JCA's Girls Soccer team found itself behind 4-3 with 8 minutes to go against conference opponent Gramercy. The Warriors' top scorer Carlee Bock had just scored her fourth goal of the game and the Conquerors were tired, having played a late game in Greenville the night before. A few moments later, Kaylea Goodson handled a deep throw-in, beat the outside back, and delivered a hard low shot to the far post that beat the keeper. The goal, her third of the game, lifted the spirits of the Conquerors and they found the strength to possess the ball for most of the final minutes.
With 17 seconds to go, a hard shot from Lauren Strickland was parried away by the keeper all the way to the JCA defense where Ali Lemons blasted a high shot from about 35 yards out which sailed just over the keeper's hands and into the net. The win improved JCA's record to 3-0, 1-0 conf. Monday's game at Wilmington Christian has been rained out, so JCA will next play Tuesday at home vs Living Water. Go Conquerors!
