Young Conquerors Grow Up

JCA's Girls' Soccer team defeated Trinity 2-0 thursday in front of a large crowd of friends and family. The win was their first home victory in team history. Despite their youth, the Conquerors controlled possession of the ball and outshot the Tigers 12-4. Jennifer Jackson (Fr) scored the first goal of the game in the 22nd minute of the first half. This was her first goal of the season and the first in her career. Bethany Parker (Jr) scored the 2nd goal for the Conquerors in the 32nd minute. Alexis Williams (Fr) led the team in shots (5) and made several spectacular plays to beat opposing defenders. Melanie Evans (Jr) preserved the 2nd shutout of the season (her first complete game shutout) with the help of a strong defense. Brittany Coble (So) was particulary solid at middle defender. The team's season record is now 2-2-1. The Conquerors are at home again friday and will take on cross-town rival Fellowship in a 3:00 scrimmage. Admission to this event will be free and concessions will be available for purchase.
