Girls Soccer Wins Preseason Tourney
JCA's Girls Soccer team won the preseason tournament held this past weekend here at JCA. The Conquerors defeated Living Water and Temple and tied Greenville to get to the Championship game against Epiphany. Although the falcons scored first off of a long assist from their keeper, JCA quickly responded with a goal from Kaylea Goodson (assisted by Kristina Sherman). Just before halftime, Lauren Strickland scored off of a corner kick rebound to put the Conquerors ahead for good. The second half was scoreless and JCA went on to win 2-1. It was the first ever win for JCA over Epiphany. Kaylea Goodson, Kristina Sherman, and Ali Lemons were named to the All-Tournament Team and Brianna Jackson was named Tournament MVP. JCA finished the tournament with 18 goals scored while allowing only 1. Congratulations to all of the girls for a job well done!
